I've received a suspicious-looking e-mail, ostensibly from O2 and Virgin Media, telling me to 'verify my identity'. I don't understand why I've received it or why I need to verify my identity, or to who.
I have an O2 pay-monthly mobile phone account and a Virgin Money account but neither of these have informed me of any changes I should be aware of.
Is this another scam that I need to be wary of?

Can you log in to MyO2 with no problems?
BTW Virgin Money has no connection whatsoever with O2 or Virgin Media.
