Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Problem On O2

Hello
Just going to try and keep it quick and short well basically I bought a Sony xperia z1 compact simfree so meaning I can use any sim card I want to...
What has happened ever since I updated the software via Sony website it don't accept any of the o2 carriers or itself it won't take Giffgaff...lyca...o2

But for some weird reason it takes three and ee and orange

I've been up and down shops from where I got it from Argos and my local o2 shop no one could help so I finally got upset with the fact it always seems to happen with sony phones I finally sold it and ended up buying a moto 4g
Couldn't b bothered to invest anymore in expensive phones

Well that's about it if anyone knows how to fix it let me know because I sold it to my cousin

Hello guys sorry i couldnt reply back soon cus my phone was dead...
So i took ur advices and took it back to argos gave them my details and they scanned the box the manager came played with the phone said did u drop it lol
Im like no u can have a look he checked it and inspected it like his giving my phone a passport or something lol

Well basically after 15minutes me explaining everything he checked it with o2 sim than three sim his like its a simfree phone y isit not excepting o2 im like i dont know all i did was update it..

he than changed it to a new sony xperia z1 compact

I sold it to my cousin and its working fine...
Well thank u everyone for ur help its much appriciated as always
And i apoligise again for not getting back to u guys just didnt have a phone plus been really busy with hospital appointments

After that bad experiance with sony im not buying it again
