Hi all , right Hereford, I joined O2 three weeks ago , on my tariff it says I have unlimited bt open zone wifi , where I am at home is good bt open zone wifi signal , I have sent the text saying wifi to 2121 I receive a text back straight away saying you can register this phone in one hour but there are no steps on how to register no email etc so how do I register????
I have spoken to more than likely every single person on O2 chat and not one of them has been able to help they say that my phone is registered and to log in using my mobile number as username and password each time I do this it says incorrect so still unable to access wifi? Does anyone know how to help meh as anyone had this problem ??? I have the radiating wifi symbol at the top of my screen but each time I try and access wifi it pops up with the bt open zone log on page which I can not log in to please somebody help !?! Many thanks in advance
Si

Not all BT Wi-fi are available from O2 phones, you can check here as some are private:

On the O2 page it says you should select BT openzone and follow these instructions.

How do I get online using BT Openzone?

The first time you attempt to use a BTOpenzone hotspot you will be asked to go through a short registration process. This is required even though you may have BTOpenzone included as part of your tariff.

The first time you use the service you will need to go through the following registration steps:

1. Activate wi-fi on your device, if you haven’t done so already

2. Search for wi-fi hotspots

3. Connect to the ‘BTOpenzone’ SSID or network name - Do not pick BTOpenzone with any other suffix such as BTOpenzone-H

4. Open your internet browser – a log in page will appear

5. Log in selecting O2 as your network and providing your mobile number as instructed.

You will only need to register the first time. After that, when you are within range of other BTOpenzone hotspots your phone will automatically connect you.

Some mobiles/smartphones might remember the last WiFi hotspot connected and continue to try to access this. If it is taking some time to connect to BTOpenzone you may have to ask the phone to forget the current network ticked.

Perkisie beat me to it, I was going to say that personal BT customers show up similar to BT Openzone accounts.

Next time you are in the highstreet and near a costa, try then and you will see the process.
