My current deal has just expired and I’d like to upgrade to a deal I’ve found on uswitch.
Last time I done this I could select an option where I could upgrade my existing deal, but this time when I go to checkout, it’s just going through as a new deal and I cannot see an option for the upgrade even when signed into my account.
Do I need to take it out as a new deal and cancel my current or should the option appear? I’d like to keep my current number as well

Leave everything from plan-offering-id= etc in there still.
The good news is this seems to work (in a full browser on a big screen!) - inasmuch as it offers me the opportunity to upgrade, going by the screenshots below:
1. On transfer from the SIMO plan selection page on Uswitch website to O2 website, you see:
2. In the URL bar - highlight just the red text in the URL "/shop/sim-cards/sim-only-deals/configuration?" and replace it with "/shop/alreadywitho2?":
3. Press return and proceed to select "Yes, I'm with O2 and want to upgrade my plan" (I am not ready to upgrade yet, so cannot take it onto the next step!):
...and carry on as normal (selecting which one of the numbers on your account you wish to upgrade, and so on....).
I did not go to the end, as I still have 4 months to run on my current SIMO before I can upgrade at zero cost - and I can possibly wait until next April to avoid the next £1.80 "APR" bounce!
Thanks, @Volavola 👍

Sounds good until o2 cancel your contract and cut you off or kick you off the upgraded tariff!!!
I dont think its a risk I would take.. for a couple of quid..
Posting it on an o2 community probably not the wisest move...

I tried this and it didn’t work. I amended the URL and chose upgraded. It then brought up a white empty pop up box. There was an X to close the box but clicking it didn’t work. Tried using two separate browsers on computer.

I guess O2 don't want customers getting better SIMO deals with other suppliers without making them go through the pain of Guide: Migration & porting into O2 - which is also taking days or weeks when it used to take less than a day for a migration of old number to new SIM, @Junior
🤷

Well, technically, it means you can no longer simply one-step upgrade if you go with anyone other than O2, but you can avail of the offers others provide on O2, with the hassle of doing a migration of your number from old contract, which terminates once the number moves to new SIM, yourself...
You're right, though, @Junior - it is definitely a backwards step from how it used to be. I am not sure if other networks are up to the same trick, though - being dependent on O2 to get its signal to my phone at home as I am, alas.

So, I spoke to o2 and they did me a SIM only contract at £8 per month for 24 months with 30 GB data and unlimited calls & texts. 2 GB less than the Uswitch offering. but it’s for 24 months.
when I’ve logged into my account there is the option to change tariff to a £10 monthly cost for 12 months of 50GB and unltd calls and texts.
im conflicted whether to move to get the flexibility of 12 months. I doubt id use more than 30GB…

Make sure they are not expecting you to pay off your existing plan in full before letting you take out the shorter one with more data @Junior - your MyO2 only tells you this when you start the move from one to other tariff. I think you can get an answer by texting INFO to 85075, a free service, to see what it would cost to settle early as you move to a shorter term. Good luck!
