Anonymous
Not applicable
I sent a handset back as it was incorrect. I've now applied for a new contract as they have received my handset and cancelled the first account. How will I know if th 2nd credit check was successful?
I've paid for delivery tomorrow, will I know tonight?
Thanking you in advance

Ps I am almost certain I picked the correct handset but I guess there's no way of proving it was their/my fault 🤔
Well if I have to do a customer survey I'll try mention @Cleoriff needs paying 😉😉
I'll let you know lovely xxx

No nor me @jonsie as they allowed @Anonymous to place an order for a specific fast delivery date...(I was suggesting a quick call tomorrow purely for reassurance...) wink

The usual rule is:
New contract = credit check
Upgrade = No credit check
However, I've no idea if they class this as another new contract or not - it all depends what the computer says!

A bit of background....

I applied and received a handset from o2 on the 30gb tariff.
When I received my handset I realised it was the wrong one. Anyway o2 said that I had to return the phone and the whole order will be cancelled and I'd have to start a brand new order.

I ordered a new one ( same tariff but a bigger phone same priced handset) and now it's gone to credit referrals. So what's changed in 10 days?
I'd always heard such good things about o2 but it's really been quite a tricky process. What i don't understand why they couldn't swap out the handsets.

Part of me is hoping the check will fail, as if this is what o2 is like then I'm really not sure if I want to be giving my business. 10 days ago I was approved for a £65.00 a month contract no deposit. They may have just lost my business......watch this space....

@Cleoriff here's what happened this morning xx

If the check fails, it might fail if you go to another provider as well, so be careful what you wish for.

O2's return policy is a bit absurd if they had delivered the wrong phone. You really shouldn't have had to go through another credit check as it was their fault in the first place.

The thing is @Bambino I can't prove it was them/me. I was almost certain I asked for the 6s Plus. I didn't think I'd need to go through one anyway as I've already been checked by them once with no problems.

@Cleoriff @Anonymous they said it was with back office and the man on the phone said he can't access it. Do you know what that means?

Bit of a gray area if you can't prove it was yourself or O2 who made the error. As it is only the second credit check there shouldn't be a problem, but doing two in succession is never a great idea. Fingers crossed that it goes through.:smileyhappy:

Hmm I've just read somewhere on the community that yo should leave it a week....oops. Then again it's been about two weeks thinking about it.
Id rather be honest and say I can't prove if it was them or me. Ah well what will be will be eh?

I understand what you mean be careful what you wish for its just I've not had the best first impression 🙈🤔 @Bambino
It's funny because I had a feeling this one wouldn't go so smoothly....

All you can do now is wait and hope for the best @Anonymous. I doubt any of this will get sorted before Monday at the earliest. Good luck. Keep us posted on any progress.
