I took out my contract last September and didnt activate the new number. Does the sim disconnect after a certain period of time as I tried it yesterday and it said no service?

Many thanks

Just contact o2 and it should be ok?

Yes, you'll need CS to sort it out for you now.

It probably never was activated if you didn't get CS to do it at the time.
Call them now to do so http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Correct for PAYG sim cards but contract sims will stay on forever (and you will be charged) unless cancelled.

When you say you didn't activate the new number, did you use your original sim? If you did then it's quite possible that the new sim will not have a number attached to it and may have well been a blank sim. You are using your contract after 7 months??

@Anonymous Have you been paying for a contract that you haven't been using for the last 7 months, or are you, as @jonsie asked, using a different sim? If all you're looking to do is use the new sim rather than the old one, you need to do a sim swap. You can't have two sims with the same phone number.
