Price increase of 4%RPI

Dear Sir,

I have just been informed you wish to increase my tariff by RPI of 4%.

Would you please clarify what time period you are using to determine the RPI for these price increases?

4% is not reflective of the Department of National Statistics which clearly shows that RPI has not been above 4% since Nov 2011.

I understand prices are increasing but 4% is not the RPI and it is not reasonable.

Did it state CPI or RPI on the contracts you signed?

That was all clearly explained when you took out the contract @Anonymous (I took mine out in an O2 shop, they did ask me to initial the paperwork to indicate I had read that).

Hi thanks for replying. I known I agreed to Rpi increases but I looked at the dns gov web site and rpi has not been at 4% since Nov 2011. So my question was does anyone know where they get their figure because it seems too high to me

4% is the Office for National Statistics' quoted figure for RPI i n Jan-2018.

Like car tax and the price of beer, it changes over time, usually in an upwards direction, @Anonymous

None of us have a .case, We quite happily signed a contract with the clause in the terms and conditions which everyone had it clearly pointed out to  us before signing. Those people who ignored or didn't understand are the ones who are now complaining on here. Case closed although there never really was a case to answer whether customers thought there was or not.
