O2 ripping me off

Anonymous

I arranged a new phone as an upgrade with o2 refresh. After ordering it i discovered my wife has bought me a phone for xmas so i had to cancel my upgrade phone.I went in to the shop i had arranged to collect it from and they told me i had to cancel it online.I went online with live chat and they told me i had to go into the shop to cancel it.When i went back to the shop they told me i had to do it online.I have just spoken to customer services and they just told me i need to go into the shop.Someone is taking the p*** and im not happy.I have been a customer of o2s for a number of years but not anymore.Tomorrow im going to cancel my direct debit with this useless company,im going to cancel my remaining contract and i will not be giving o2 any more of my money.

Hi,

The store will hold it for 7 days I think before they return it (if not collected). If returned, the order gets cancelled. Not sure why they are refering you to go online because they should be able to return it @ your request.

Hi.

Ring customer services on 202 to cancel.

Forget live chat.
They are non uk outsourced call centres who can get things a little muddled at times.

Do not cancel any direct debits.

This can cause issues in the long run and potentially affect your credit rating.

i just did and they told me to go back to the shop.I havent even picked the phone up from the store and according to o2s website it says "If we don't hear from you, or you don't collect it within the agreed time, we'll cancel your order and refund your payment".Well they have heard from me and i havent collected the phone.

Weird.

O2 Customer Services on 202 should be able to assist.

You could escalate here ; http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/srvs/cgi-bin/webcgi.exe?New,KB=Companion,question=ref%28user%29:str%28Rel...

Isnt it weird how if you want to join a company the phone is always answered straight away but if you have a problem you have to wait ages to be connected.
