Not sure if anyone has had this happen and what the outcome was after contacting O2 (they really dont have a clue at the minute so need to keep trying until I get someone clued up)

Im trying to do Switchup online as its easier with work to do online and get the phone delivered. However, it keeps giving me an error saying ive reached the max contracts available. I do have multiple contracts but not wanting a new contract just switchup. Anyone had this happen before and was there a way around it?

@CorGre

Yes, it's happened before @CorGre

You have to do it in store as online tries to add another contract which takes you over the maximum allowed.

In store can close one before adding another.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

So, quick update... because they now process everything for a switchup in store, Unless they physically have the phone in store then the switchup wont work then either. This also means I cant preorder the new Samsung S25 Ultra since it wont be instore.

I seem to remember others have put a deposit down to order the phone and then done switch up on launch day @CorGre ...

Yep, quick search on the community comes up with the following:

@CorGre

You go into store and pay a £50 deposit, and the whole switchup is done in store, now there have been people saying this can no longer be done, and to be honest the S25 series is such a poor upgrade then I doubt they will be out of stock on day 1..

But if you do pre-order everything is done for the switchup on day you collect, best thing to do is pop to a store tomorrow

Tried the £50 reservation to get it ordered into store... the store is now claiming they dont do this anymore as they process the full switchup and post the device out. Seems to be a backward step, as my Switchup is due 30th January, I wanted to pay the £50 to get it ordered in and then go in on the 31st and complete the switchup, now I have to wait until after the 31st and hope they have spare stock.

Thanks for the update @CorGre  seems like a complete change of process yet again...

@Dave-O2 is this new process for pre-ordering switchups, or can you no longer do this?? seems a very backwards step

I'd be inclined to try a different store too.
