Are o2 sim only tariffs being hiked up by an extra £3 from October 2025?

Customers that were migrated from Virgin mobile.

O2 help desk chat confirmed this was the case.

No price increase for you then mate.

You've also marked the wrong post as solution, because it's not true!

That's strange then cause when I chatted with o2 via the app they said I would be charged.

What made you say that I won't have the £3 charge hike?

Is it because the contract had ended?

This is what Google says:

Yes, a £3 price hike would apply to an O2 SIM Only tariff if that's the price increase announced for your plan, as O2's annual price increases generally affect all types of mobile contracts, including SIM Only. O2 has confirmed that price increases are applied to monthly subscription charges from April bills onwards, so you would see the hike on your bill from that point.

It's only for customers who have chosen a 30 day rolling contract.

You were on a fixed term contract which is now a rolling contract but it is only "selected" 30 day contracts that get the price raise. Those contracts were cheaper previously and are now being realigned.

You may be able to change and save money but if you do nothing, your price will stay the same.

Not according to o2, I was one of those legacy customers therefore I was in line to get the £3 rise, anyway I won't be getting that rise now as I've changed my contract.
