No service after new phone + sim card

Anonymous

Hi all, i have just recieved a replacement iPhone 5 after my old one was lost, i have got a new sim card from o2 but when i put it in the phone i can't send messages, make calls, use internet. It displays o2 uk at the top and if i remove the sim it recognises that its been removed, it seems like i am getting no service although i have full bars of signal... Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

When you reported the phone as lost they will Have placed a bar on your account.

Ring O2 customer services http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus to ask for me the bar to be now lifted and you should be then good to go.

Hi

Appreciate that but I think the account bar is still in place.

If you use the landline numbers in the link if you can't dial 202 from a working O2 powered phone to call them they will check.

Also it's worth checking your O2 Masts Status via http://status.o2.co.uk just to check they are working ok.

Also try removing the sim, clean it and reinsert and reboot and in the iPhones settings. Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings.

The block will still be on the account and for obvious reasons they won't send a live sim in the post. A quick call or even using live chat should get it sorted for you.

It's the account that had the block on it not the sim.
Contact cs and once you pass security they will remove the block.
