Nexus 5 delayed text messages

Hello all,

I have had the Nexus 5 for a few months now and have been liking it. Last Thursday I upgraded my SIM only contract to a 4G tariff. Ever since I have been getting delayed text messages.

O2 sent me out a new SIM (well, 2 actually) and I activated one on Sunday night. I was still getting delayed messages yesterday so I spoke to the Live Chat person who couldn't understand the situation at all but advised to activate the other SIM which I did. However, the problem is still persisting. I have just been back onto the Live Chat where I have been told:

"we've just came across this issue and we're trying to find out what the reason might be."

"Many customer's have reported this to us and we don't have any network outage as well."

"So we're currently in the Investigation mode, I can't comment any more than that, but as you're facing this issue again, that's the reason I've disclosed this classified information to you."

Seems like it might be BS to me but who knows - anyone else been having problems?? Does anyone know the current APN settings for a non-iPhone Pay Monthly customer so I can check that mine are right.

Data and voice calls appear to be unaffected.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim

A few customers have been affected by this.

Try turning the phone off. Remove the sim and clean it then re insert

Also check yours mast status via your full postcode.

Thanks. I have checked through the APN details and all seems to be in order. Have tried cleaning the SIM card and doing a 'N64-style' blow out of the SIM tray.

However, no luck with the missing test texts that I have sent. slight_frown

Just for future reference, apn's are not required to send SMS messages, only required for MMS messages.
