Sorry if this is a silly question, I'm halfway through an O2 unlimited 24 month contract. Is this a 4G contract? I thought it was but where I work ( south Derby area) is now in a 4G area but I'm not getting 4G showing on my HTC one M7. Of its not, can it be upgraded to a 4G tariff at no extra cost (with same allowances of course)?

Think I've got it sorted now! Logged into My O2 on my MacBook, the tariff again doesn't say anything specifically about 4G so I clicked on the 'change tariff' button. Found an identical tariff to the one I'm on now that does state 4G - no extra cost so I've changed to it. It starts on my next billing cycle which happens to be 2 days from now!

Will check then but looks like I wasn't on a 4G tariff originally which I thought I was, so we will see on the 14th October, will let you know.

Thanks again everyone for the help and advice! slight_smile

A good move I'd say.

If you do run any speed tests to see how fast your 4G is take into account each test can use 40mb+ of your data allowance.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of o2's 4G Service.

Thanks, will let you know my thoughts when it switches over tomorrow or Wednesday.

I've done a 3G speed test, carried out in South Derby City area. I used the O2 'My Network' app on my HTC One M7:
Downloading: 515kbps
Uploading: 1681kbps
Response speed: 174ms

Download speed seems a bit slow, network could've been congested though, ran the test at about 13.30. Will try to run the 4G test at about the same time and location if I can.

3g speeds look fairly typical to me 😞

Sadly not - we have no idea and O2 aren't announcing anything either.....
