HTC Desire - can't receive MMS - O2 settings won't work...

Hi there,
Recently got a HTC Desire on a 24 month O2 contract. Lovely phone, managed to enter the supplied O2 settings manually for 3G that work fine (O2 Mobile Web APN). However, the settings to send and receive MMS messages (GPRS WAP and MMS APN) simply won't work.
I just keep getting this message when trying to send, "Unable to send message. Retrying... Generic network failure."
Any thoughts?

Check with O2 that MMS is enabled for your account.

Hey Robbie,
Did you get this sorted - I'm having the same issues! Spoken to a "guru" went through all the settings and told me to restore factory setting 'that will def work!' except it hasn't and now I've had to go through setting up my entire phone again for nothing - getting pretty hacked off!!
Any help would be great as o2 have been less than useless!

I'm having exactly the same problems on my HTC Desire S ,settings are in and no matter what APN I use still get General Network Error
