DD monthly payment

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am just inquiring as to what the possible outcome would be if I miss a DD payment. My payment is due monday and what with xmas and wages going in payments being taken at early and late over the last 2 weeks I have lost track of what was paid and what is still due.
As it stands my payment won't go through when due because of insufficient funds although I hope to be able to put the money in in time but what will happen if I am unable to.
Clearly I understand this is my own fault and in the worst case scenario will have enough to pay it on next Friday but ia there anyone I can contact who help me sort this out. I have never missed a payment before and my recorfld is spotless, would hate to get a black mark if it can be avoided

I'd say that at the time the OP first posted it was a certainty that it was too late today. The only thing he can do is to try to speak to CS over the weekend at some point and get onto his bank first thing Monday to see if there is anything that can be done.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

If the OP speaks to o2 before Monday to explain and pays on Friday then o2 won't touch the credit file and went cut phone off either.

I could try asking the bank for an overdraft but in 15 years of banking with them they've never actually lifted a finger to assist in this sort of situation, why would they when they can do nothing and hit me with a £25 bank charge. Have to phone customer services and see if they'll help at all

Hi @Anonymous  Most banks will Smiley Mad. Have you managed to sort this out though before they do?

Not yet, everybodies short right now otherwise I'd ask a mate or family to lend me enough to cover it till friday but nobody's much better off than me right now 😞
It was more what can I expect o2 to do in these circumstances, do they cut you off straight away and make a big issue of it or give you a chance to sort things before taking action. I will phone CC but have to admit that banks and large companies etc tend to be pretty inflexible when a little leeway would save allsorts of hassle in the long run

On experience from posts on the forum as long as you call them ( not live chat) and explain the situation they are typically accommodating.

Yes I did say in my earlier post that I thought it was a little late to be contacting your bank to request an overdraft. It also may be too late to stop the DD being processed even if you contact O2 (they may tell you this.) However if you don't ask you wont get anywhere so I would ring CS. They may be kind to you... as I am sure they are aware that lots of people are in a similar situation post Christmas.:smileywink:
