Why is it so hard to close an O2 account?

 

We've moved out of the UK.

 

Maintained the mobile number for a while so could give them our new number.

 

Finally decided to terminate it over a month ago, used the online chat service to do that, support person was that stupid he constantly tried to get me to switch to a lower contract, or a PAYG SIM - yes, that'll work well, form the US. Lots of free calls included...

 

Eventually persuaded him to cancel, he said he has.

 

Got what should have been the final bill last month.

 

This month, another bill. Look in My O2 - nothing anywhere saying that the account is to be closed.

 

So, cancel the direct debit and block their emails? They'll mess up my UK credit score (still want to maintain that), small claims court? Looks like online chat service people just lie about what they're going to do, so that looks like it'll be a waste of time.

 

What's the best way of closing account?
