Calls to Landlines in Russia

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have just heard from 02 that it is no longer possible to call a landline in Russia using 02. 02 has ended its contract with the Russian landline companies. 02 still promotes the fact that its customers can make (cheaper) calls to Russian landline numbers, particularly if you have the 02 International SIM card. This is simply NOT TRUE. 02 needs to revise its marketing policy and PR information as a matter of urgency

Hi guys,

As cyrillicguy and Albret mentioned before. I’ve had it confirmed and we do support these calls.

There has been some difficulty for some time now with Russian phone numbers, but if it has officially ended, I agree, a warning should be added asap to the relevant web pages.

Hi @Anonymous Then in that case the relevant info should be added to the web pages as stated earlier by @MI5

Maybe @Toby or @Anonymous should be made aware of this?

If customer services are giving that advice then yes, the website needs changing straight away. I'm sure people taking this out are not going to be best pleased to find out they can't phone Russia. Seems very strange in this day and age that a network cannot connect a call to a landline anywhere in the world.

Nothing we can do until we get an official notification here off O2.

As you have pm'd Toby he will give us an update once he has it.
