Is there any source of this second temp tower? I still don't get any signal at work at the Marina since the original was taken down. Time to switch to EE I think...

I work at the hospital, and our Head of Communications for the 3Ts Redevelopment Project (which involves the building of the helipad on top of the Thomas Kemp tower) told me two weeks ago that O2 would be on site last week to start putting up this new replacement mast.  Alas, nothing has physically happened as far as we can see - certainly our network coverage is still very poor!  And I don't want to worry anyone unduly, but the same Head of Communications warned me that in 6 - 12 months time, the mast would again need to be removed, as the building works will definately have progressed (one hopes!).  I wonder whether we will suffer the same total lack of service again, or will O2 have learnt their lesson?  Answers on a postcard....quicker than sending a text in kemp Town wink

I'm in Kemptown and suffering the same problems.  My neighbour managed to get O2 to release him from his contract.  He was told by a technical adviser at O2 that it would take a year for the new mast.  I called into the O2 shop on Western Road yesterday.  It was like getting blood from a stone when I asked for an update.  When I said 'a year?' the assistant said it wouldn't be that long and when repeatedly pressed said he had been told about three months.  If anyone from O2 reads this, please show some respect for your customers and give us a proper and honest update.  If you do, and it's only likely to be three months, I may just renew my contract in September.  Why is it so hard for you to let us know what's going on?

This is very strange.

Yesterday (monday 3/6/2013) I had to go on business to the RSCH. The boss went into the hosiptal and had no issue with calling me on 3g and I did a speed test whilst parked in a side road just north of the hospital and got 1.94Mbps down and 1.10Mbps up ping 121

Whilst waiting for the boss after telling me he was on his way out of the hospital I parked opposite the entrance ramp and screen captured this on copliot

Then drove to the postoffice in St Georges Road and lost 3g for a bit but 5 bars 2g then 3 bars 3g.

Doesn't matter to me if they take it back down in a year, I'll be switching anyway come October. Can't use my phone while at work or in one half of Brighton so what's the point of paying so much?

I phoned o2 a while back and said i was going to cancel my direct debit if nothing is sorted out soon. the reply was "i wouldnt do that sir it may affect your credit rating" so does o2 think we should pay monthly for no service and think we are really bothered about a credit rating. hows about giving us what we are all paying for. how much profit is rolling in from us all to a company that lies to its customers. imagine paying your water bill and no water is delivered for months on end. come on o2 stop telling us in your ads how wonderful the o2 network is and be honest that you really dont give a danm as long as you have people on contracts. i think you should pay us all back and only take our money when you have a service to offer.

Most people are seriously concerned about their credit rating and stopping your payments would be a silly thing to do, unless you will never need it for the rest of your life.

Make a note and claim against them for the time your service is down, via their complaints service.

Well signal has been great in Kemptown for a month until Monday! The signal has dropped, gone, vanished!

I'm standing next to the temp mast in keptown (near kemptown flowers, church place) and I have crap signal and no 3G.

After to speaking to some locals there are people who have not paid their bill for 2 months as O2 keep refunding them. So if you are having issues just ask for a refund on your monthly phone bill. Coming in this forum and complaining gets nothing. O2 don't listen to anyone here. You have to request a refund via chat, twitter or phone. Unfortunately you can't email O2 as they are far superior to allow email comunication slight_smile

Also there has been some road works going on near the temp mast and some people say this is something to do with O2 and it's caused problems. I don't know if this is true but it's strange that the signal has dropped over night.

I would advise anyone to not stop your direct debit. Phone companies can seriously effect your credit rating as I had a flag on my report from 5 years ago when switching from Vodafone to O2. The phone companies can really srew your rating.

I don't work for O2 but maybe they will credit me for keeping there customer up to date with 80% acurate info slight_smile

Good luck all!
