I have upgrded my phone to a 5G device which came with a new sim card. I have put the new sim in the new phone and I'm getting "Sim Not Provisioned". I still have my old Sim card in my old phone and its working as normal.

I have been restarting my new phone regularly but still no connection. Technically I can put my old sim in my new phone but I dont think I will get 5G

It's best to use your old sim at the moment. Sim swops are taking much longer and yes, you won't get 5G but unless your area has 5G then you wouldn't anyway.

ok Its been over a week and my new sim card is still not registering.

I have no issues with swapping my old sim into my new phone but its not a 5G sim so I wouldn't get the benifits of the new network. saying that I'm not even sure my area is now covered, plus the fact I'm only outside for only 1 hour a day.

OK going to swap sim cards slight_smile

Should I be able to get a new 5G Sim card to replace the faulty one ?

You will be able to get a new 5g sim card once everything has calmed down and do the sim swap at that point.

The new sim won't work until you register that you have it with o2.
To do that you will have to call o2 (numbers in the link below).
And if you did this as an upgrade your old sim will continue to work until you tell o2 to swap to your new sim.

I swapped sims and all is as expected. I just don't have access to 5G.

As O2Lorna suggests I'll sort out a new SIM eventually

Thanks for your help
