How you know I like to write reviews, but this one is more of a observation than anything.
As most of us on here know how dire o2 3G network was, when o2 was announced, I just was hoping that o2 didn't go down the same route and end up with again poor 4G. O2 then suppressed us by buying the 4G chunk that has to have 98% of the U.K Population covered by 2017.
However over the last year or so, I've seen huge gains of 4G in both cities and countryside where I live, but I recently is where I was really impressed was on my travel to London.
So I will explain.
I travel to London either with business or pleasure couple of times a year, Always have my three Mifi when on train as it's normally impossible to use either my laptop or phone with o2.
Two weeks ago that change and oh my god. My Three MIFI stayed in bag and I tethered all the way from Chesterfield to London on the train.
I was able to work, connect over VPN, use the system and even my work friend connected on my phone as well. I did loose 4G when leaving the main cities etc, but I then got and kept 3G. Wow. Impressed I was, but the speed was good too.
this is the first ever time I used my o2 for everything and left my Three MIFI in the bag.
Now there were a few places I went to 2G. One of them being in a tunnel, and one of them was in the middle of know where, but in fairness to o2, it still carried on working and as soon as 3G was found, it moved back,
If I have one gripe, would be that the o2 network when I was in London and traveling round London, no matter where I went, it was creaking under pressure and very slow at times. So still work needs to be done there I suppose due to the volume of people using the network.

I would have to agree with the above web Review and say o2 in London is not great. signal was superb, but Data is very slow and some what unreliable at times
But it's great to see that it's getting much better else where. I know there are loads of places that o2 is still poor, but to me for a 200+ mile trip, it's a start

I agree the 4G rollout is much better than the 3G one. My area always had patchy 3G but now my whole area has 4G everywhere

Well I hope it's good when I go to Brean in November.....not forgetting the gang of us go to a place near Yarmouth in May and that area is like the back of beyond for any type of signal....:smileysad:

No complaints from me either in my area of Greater Manchester. Took a while to get here but spreading like a bush fire fanned by the wind

@Anonymous wrote:@Cleoriff I believe Bridgwater has 4G now so you maybe lucky. I remember a time years ago in Norfolk where you couldn't get a mobile signal at all unless you were in a city
Friends of our have a second home in Cromer. As soon as you get past Kings Lynn you may as well forget all contact. If they want to ring us they still have to take a 10 minute walk to get a signal.

Yes I was shocked too. And the only reason I knew is that my work friend who was with me was on o2 and was talking to her family while we went in the tunnel and came out of the tunnel, I checked my phone and it showed 2G. Not a strong signal but enough for the call to continue.
may be just that there is a mast at beginning and end of the tunnel just very strange that's all.
was still happy though.
I Even Get 4G, 3G, 2G on snake pass road which is in the middle of know where. It's blazing fast too. Apart from odd farm house, them Cows And Sheep on field have all the 4G, 3G they can have. They can now watch all them mooooovies in HD
