Our Pay Monthly MMS (multimedia messages) rates are changing. Take a look below to see what's new from 14 November.

Sending an MMS will now be charged as follows:

Type of message Current Price New Price from 14 November 2016

MMS (Multimedia Messages)40p50p

The above changes apply to all customers on a consumer Pay Monthly tariff.

What a rip off! If anything the price of this ancient technology should be going down.

O2 board members clearly live in a bubble of ignorance and are not aware MMS is dying and the only thing that'll make it compete with the 7 million free messaging apps out there is REDUCTION on price, not a hike of this extent.

lets see if i get this one if not 2 price rises and no notification

@Toby these should be account sms not marketing sms and my contact setting in myo2 should not prevent this important contractual sms from being received.

They actually want you to stop using it, hence the increase, as it costs too much to keep the service active.
Remember is based on 2g which will be going completely soon too.
I understand that some of the latest Samsung software updates have removed the ability to send an MMS too.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I agree with that @adamtemp64. I haven't had the text either. This isn't marketing (which is what I have opted out of) they are texts to inform us of changes to account prices

Seems strange that I can still get harassed from companies who o2 apparently didn't sell my number to, yet they cannot themselves manage to inform me of a significantly detrimental (to me) change of my tariff !

No text for me either but mms has been redundant for my usage for a couple of years. as @viridis says, there are many free ways to send photos these days and not subject to the size limit and compression of O2.
