I am on Classic PAYG and need to receive a couple of text messages while on a cruise. I can check when on land using local roaming connection with no problem but at sea I would like to just connect to the ship's connection for a minute to see if the SMS arrives then switch off again. It is a Fred Olsen ship and their info says check with your moblie operator to find out all their charges that may apply. Are there any charges from O2 on top of the cost from the ship?

I was on a Fred Olsen cruise last week and could not use their shipboard mobile service (Cellular at Sea), though the guy at guest services could. I wanted to receive text messages, which are free, to get the one-time code I needed to log in to my Passenger Locator Form account.
