We spoke with customer service before travel to active roaming. We can not call or answer calls, we can not send text messages, only internet (massanger or what’s up) Please help because we travel by car and is danger without working mobiles. Not happy with o2! We have numbers over 10years and the same problems on last holidays ( Germany, Poland). Please advise.

Manually search for a network with 3g as you cannot use 4g calling on PAYG yet - not until the end of the year.

Otherwise, get a local sim card.

Telefonica and Orange have some 3G coverage in Spain

3G in Portugal there may be some on Vodafone only

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
