Hi,
at the moment i am a pay monthly contract user, in may my contract is up and the phone is mine. I then want to go onto a sim only plan however the deals offered by 02 are not as good as those offered by Uswitch.
So i plan to get the deal i want from Uswitch which is also an 02 sim, however i want to continue using the number i have now. When i get the new 02 sim only sim from uswitch do i still need to get a pac code even though i am technically not leaving 02? can i not just call them and sort it that way?
thanks

Upgrade then for 12 months and you can then do the same every following May.

I'm on a o2 pay as you go tariff and tried your method. When I got to O2 site, I selected the "upgrade" option but then I got the below error:

You are correct @nakanoshima - USwitch can only upgrade someone who is already a pay monthly customer.
As you are PAYG, you would need to take out a new contract.

Hi Jonsi,
Thank you very helpful!
The option to not request a new SIM did not come up for me and they have assigned a new number and posted a new SIM. Should I just not use the number and SIM when it arrives?
Thanks,
NB

Anything through uSwitch now generates a new contract, as you cant use it upgrade or change tariffs..
Your only option is to contact o2 when it arrives and cancel the new sim card otherwise you will be charged for it, used or not.
