Hi All,
Grateful for any views. I've just bought a new Classic PayGo 321 Sim on Amazon with an expiry date of 26/1/26 for it to be activated, so I'm hoping it should be good. However, although I've been able to add the number to my O2 account, (I have a monthly sim too) an online top up fails as soon as I add my address, with the message there's a technical issue.
So, two questions:
1. Does adding it to my account activate it? (Weirdly there's no instructions how to do that)
2. Would I be wasting my money to go to Tesco, buy a top up voucher then add it on my phone, or is Classic PayGo completely dead?
Thanks

Theoretically 321 classic is dead to new users.
Assume it can from someone selling on Amazon Marketplace.
Suppose if it doesn't work you can ask for a refund

Guide How to Top Up (PAYG) has all the ways, if the SIM is still valid for use on O2, and first top up by voucher is recommended - following the instructions on either the SIM card cardboard folder or the voucher itself.
Good luck, @colin-thames1.

Thanks, the Tesco top up worked. Don't know why I couldn't do it online but I've now had all the texts from O2 confirming I'm on Classic Pay as You Go. Still seems to be available through third party resellers.
Now to check if it's a call every 6 months, or a top up to keep it alive?

The first top-up on any O2 PAYG SIM needs to be done by voucher so I believe that is why the online top-up failed.
It's a chargeable call every six months and a top-up every 999 days. to keep it alive, although there have been reports of disconnections within this window. So maybe a chargeable call every three months to play safe ?
