Hi,

at the moment i am a pay monthly contract user, in may my contract is up and the phone is mine. I then want to go onto a sim only plan however the deals offered by 02 are not as good as those offered by Uswitch.

So i plan to get the deal i want from Uswitch which is also an 02 sim, however i want to continue using the number i have now. When i get the new 02 sim only sim from uswitch do i still need to get a pac code even though i am technically not leaving 02? can i not just call them and sort it that way?

thanks

@chili

Upgrade then for 12 months and you can then do the same every following May.

@chili Good news

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I'm on a o2 pay as you go tariff and tried your method. When I got to O2 site, I selected the "upgrade" option but then I got the below error:

Unable to open My O2

You don’t currently have any connections or plans to manage.
If you’ve recently submitted an order, your new connection will appear here once we’ve sent your device and/or sim and got everything set up.
If you started an order but haven’t yet completed it, select ‘Shop now’ below to see our range of phones, tablets, sim only deals and more."

I can access MyO2 but I get this error everytime I try. Is this because I have PAYG tariff rather than a pay monthly? What can i do to solve?

You are correct @nakanoshima - USwitch can only upgrade someone who is already a pay monthly customer.

As you are PAYG, you would need to take out a new contract.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
