A quick check to see if Blackberry services are active is the case of the data service you are getting (eg GPRS, E, 3G, H), you should also see the berries next to this indicator if registered with Blackberry Servers. If lower case ( gprs, e, etc) then Blackberry Services are not active and as BOB says if you have an non BBOS10 device you need to get a Bolt-On. If you've already added a Bolt-On but it doesn't seem to be active then turn the phone off and back on.

It can take some time for Bolt-ons to become active so just keep turning off /on periodically until you see the change to upper case next to the berry symbols.

If you have one of the newer BBOS10 devices (Z10, Q10, Q5) then you just need to have created a Blackberry ID in order to use BBM, Blackberry World etc.

What blackberry do you have.

If its an older one you need the blackberry bolt on.

BlackBerry Bolt On

Get BlackBerry email, internet and messaging for only £5 a month.

Get 500MB internet plus unlimited BlackBerry access.

If its a recent one you simply need a data plan.
