Yesterday my old Dad passed away. It was sudden and although he was 81 it was unexpected. He died whilst out and about in town, doing what he loved. He was adamant that he'd carry on going to the seafront to watch the water and get new idea's for his amazing artwork.

I'd like to ask you all to raise a glass/cup of tea to him.

The universe lost a beautiful soul.

Cheers Dad 🥂

Thanks @Cleoriff he lived a full life and died knowing he was loved and cherished, which is all we mere mortals can really wish for.

He'll forever be in my heart.

This is one of Dad's paintings, it is an abstraction of a stormy evening in Somerset that Dad remembered from a childhood holiday.

Thank you for the condolences, it's a welcomed escape to come to this forum where I don't have to think of life's harsh realities for a time.

So so sorry @gindygoo
It's something that everyone has to go through in normal circumstances but we are never prepared for it. Part of us passes with them.
My thoughts are with you and your family. I I just wish that I could raise a glass to him, he sounds like the type of man that I would have got along with. 😢

I'm very far from an art expert @gindygoo but I must say I do like your dad's painting. Very expressive if that's the correct terminology. Thank you for sharing it.
