issue is, MyO2 isn't working with the migration problems, so cannot do anything and not had any emails from them since this account migration issue

It's the email you receive when you can't access My O2
You will need a different email address that you normally sign in with

Yes it is legit.
Just had the same myself.
O2 messed up everyone's account access when they migrated customers to the new billing system. This is required to regain access.

I got the same letter a couple of weeks ago. I tried the link but it says "To get started, please enter the O2 phone number that received this SMS."
I haven't received the SMS yet even though the letter says I will get one in a few days. Got the letter 2 weeks ago.
I can login to MyO2 but it only shows my email and mobile number. No bills, usage, etc.
