When trying to set up my online account I provided the phone number I had gven to the sales person earlier today. Online system returns an error saying this number belongs to another account. What is the reason for this? So annyoying to hit a glitch within an hour of moving from Vodafone!

If its a new account it can take a couple of days to recognise the number and update the system. Try again or call customer service
