My SIM has suddenly stopped working. I have tried to contact customer service, but they have been totally useless.
I have used a number of mobile phone services - Vodafone in the UK, Portugal, New Zealand and Australia, O2 in the UK, TMN in Portugal, and Telstra in Australia. If you want a decent level of customer service, I strongly recommend using Vodafone, instead of a lesser service, like O2, with their absolutely rubbish customer service.

Nice attempt to advertise another company but posts like that are taken with a great deal of salt here, for every post criticising one company there will be another in support.
Wasted effort I reckon and sooner or later you will be complaining about Vodafone, just give it time.

If you have spoken to customer service they would haave advised cleaning the sim first off or then getting it replaced. Have you tried the sim in another phone. What fault finding have you tried?

How can they if your SIM isn't working?
I'd have thought you'd have popped into a shop for a new SIM by now

It is a software problem, not a hardware problem. The SIM has been disconnected from the number. All I can do is wait to see if customer service want to do anything about it. Is keeping a customer important?
As far as complaining about an alternative service provider "sooner of later" that will probably be more later than sooner, as after 14 years so far I am not complaining. I have had reason to contact the customer services of most of the service providers I have used, and some stand out as being very good, and others not so good. Hence my reason for attempting to highlight good service where credit is due.
Here is the number on the SIM in case anyone from technical support reads this and wants to actually fix the problem:

You have published a sim serial number in a public forum, what do you think will happen now?
You can't even be identified from your forum user name.
