iPhone 6 and o2 Open discount code

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello All,

I have been given a 02 Open code from a friend, today I went into a o2 store to pre-order the iPhone 6 and was told the open code cannot be applied to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus because o2 are delaying the open code discount for iphone 6 and iphone 6 plus handsets. Is this true??

I don't see that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus is not mentioned in o2 open code discount terms and conditions - http://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/rewards/o2-open-terms-and-conditions

Thank you,

Phone folk

Hi

They are always excluded for around 6 months after launch I'm afraid.

Same with the previous models of
iPhone on launch.

Someone said yesterday this didn't apply this time, but I've no personal knowledge.
If you call CS on 202 they should be able to confirm one way or another.

From the faqs

"Are there any exceptions?
We don’t include iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Pay & Go, any non O2 Refresh tariffs or business accounts in the O2 Open scheme."

Then that would seem to follow as on previous launches.

I was surprised as it is normal practice as said - Usually for around 6 months.....

Thanks all slight_smile

Does that mean I would have to wait 6 months to start a iPhone 6 refresh contract and apply the open code discount or can I pre-order the iPhone 6 now and pay regular line rental for 6 months and then apply the open code discount?

Thank you,

you would have to wait until the code can be applied.

I think you have to apply for the discount within 28 days of starting the contract.
