Why doesn't Wifi calling include SMS and MMS messages?

exactly that, wifi is great but i have such low signal indoors that sometimes cant even send a text message.

I can kind of understand MMS as it costs me 41p to send one, something they dont want to lose out on i suppose, but SMS are unlimited so i cant see why this is a problem.

Also why is it that when i turn off 4G i get 2 bars indoors and can send texts pretty quickly and when i turn 4G back on i get nothing and have to keep trying again , find a phone signal hotspot in the house or go outside?

Because your phone drops to a 2g or 3g signal which will be less congested.

Because the frequency used for UMTS can be different than LTE and therefore permeate buildings better.
