My mum decided to swap back to Samsung from Apple (for the 3rd time!). The problem is my phone keeps trying to send an iMessage to her. I turned off iMessage on her old phone and signed her out of Apple and iTunes before I reset her phone. I have tried deleting all of her details off my phone and even removing her number from my history and when I re-add from scratch it still comes up blue and tries to send all messages as an iMessage.

I know I can press the message whilst it's trying to send as an iMessage and select it to send as a text, but do I really have to do this every time I try to send a message?

Any ideas?

My mum only has 1 email address so it seems pointless to create a new one - or did I read that wrong?

I think you should be the one to change your ID...

My sister is having the same problem (she has an iPhone 5) - only iMessages will send to my mum from her phone too.

Adriannadavey are you suggesting that us and anyone else that my mum knows with an iPhone have to change their Apple ID?

I agree Damien.

I guess all I can do is wait another 24 hours and see what happens.  The man on the livechat with Apple seemed very nice and told me that he'd put notes on the case of the things that I had already tried so if the problem is still there after 24 hours, it 'should' be easier to contact them and get it sorted.

What I don't understand is that when he was looking on the database for my mums number to remove, he said it wasn't there, so obviously their database has been updated since yesterday so it baffles me a bit.

Oh well time to wait........

Todays update - it's the 3rd day and i've done everything that you have suggested and I have waited a further 24 hours which Apple had suggested and surprise surprise I am still having this problem.  😞

I will be contacting Apple again today so I will let you know what happens *fingers crossed*
