packet internet not working only wifi

Hi I have a samsung galaxy ace, the wifi works well when I connect to any, but my 02 internet package will never connect, just wondered if my settings were wrong, i have got the packet data ticked in the internet settings thanks

Press menu when in the apn settings page and choose the option to reset to defaults, then reboot phone and try again. Failing that text "ACTIVE" to 2020, save settings that come back to you and reboot again.

Hi thanks if I reset to default would I lose all my things on my phone
