Dial *#1234# and let me know what it says - I'll look up the latest firmware for you.

Confirmed here that T Mob is still pending http://www.sammobile.com/2012/12/05/galaxy-s-iii-receives-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-update-lots-of-ne... so as I said previously you will have to wait for T Mob to roll it out. Currently JB is not available for your handset unless you debrand it.

You need a programme called Odin and the open firmware. All available from www.sammobile.com. There are guides on youtube etc or just google for instructions. The open firmware you need is here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=9906

I guess because T Mobile have removed it from their firmware. Debranding will fix that issue for you too.

I debranded mine and removed the unused apps. It runs faster. You need a rooted handset with Root Uninstaller for this (for example). Obviously this voids your warranty however if that is not a concern it's the way to go. Just make sure you back up your phone and pay attention to what you remove.

If I may just add to this for clarification... rooting is not required to run stock Samsung fw, neither does it void the warranty. However, root is required if you want to remove the included system apps....

Yes, sorry I should have made that clear Alexasandr. Anyway back to comparing things...

Although I would think by altering the kernel version and bootloader you were pretty much not running stock as it is meant to be.
