Hiya, M7 users!

So, good news - Lollipop is coming and it's heading your way soon! We're hopeful to have the latest update approved and sent back to HTC over the next few days and if everything goes smoothly, we hope you'll start seeing the OTA update roll out towards the end of next week.

I'll give everyone a heads up when it starts pushing out but if it happens to go out early, please do let us know how you get on and what changes or improvements you've noticed since going from KitKat to Lollipop.

I was too hasty in my reply.. My reset worked but when i try to apply the 5.0 patch its still failing

I am still on Android 4.4.3, software number 6.14.206.2

Now what to do?

Also how to validate a back up ? I am using HTC account might move to dropbox to see if that is better back up cloud option

Well Lollipoop appears to have turned my M7 into a nice shiny brick. Everything is slow and laggy. Spotify locks up with a "circle of wait" all the time, facebook slow to load, gmail slow to load. Everything that was nice a spiffy and fast before appears to have been dipped in treacle and crippled. Disappointed. Want to roll it back to JellyBean if I can.

You need to back up and do a factory reset.
Lollipop uses a different framework so if you don't reset you will get bad conflicts and stability issues.

Ta - If only it said that on one of the update screens ! I'll give it a shot when I get home, I'm sure the wireless router here at work is sat on a 56k modem.....

@Toby
Hi Toby,
After un-ticking Network notification & Scanning always available in advanced WiFi settings, (& clearing app caches) I seem to be having reasonably good battery life. It seemed pretty dire initially, and was draining fast after the update. I've not reset to factory, and don't fancy faffing about with over 300 apps!!! So....I'm quite happy. Shame that not everyone is in the same boat 😕
