Help with new galaxy s6

Anonymous

Can anyone help? I have just got a brand new galaxy s6 and it won't switch on. I swapped to the new phone before I realised and so have only wifi access on old phone. Is there anything I can do? Live chat is offline. Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

If you have just bought the phone and it wont turn on it sounds faulty to me. Any chance you can take it back to the store and swap it out?

I should probably mention in case it makes a difference that I am upgrading from galaxy s4, I have inserted new nano sim and swapped over, I am definitely fully charged and I am pressing the right power button!

Sounds like a faulty power button.
Should just need a press for one second then power up.
Return it and get it exchanged,

@Cleoriff @viridis thanks. Thats what I thought but wanted to check I wasn't missing something obvious! I have booked a guru appt for tomorrow. Would that be the best route or should I just go into the store?

If it was me I would go instore and ask for the phone to be exchanged. A 'Guru' can only prove what you know and we have said....that the phone is faulty.....(they can do that instore and exchange it more quickly)

Just go in with box and explain the fault, no need to book guru appointment.
Only settle for a swap not a repair.

Does it turn on when you plug the charger in?

Thanks. I Def don't want a repair as it hasnt ever worked! No it doesn't turn in when charger is plugged in. I get a 100% charged icon on screen but not actual booting when I press power button. Really appreciate everyone's help!

Best of luck. You should have no problem. You have a faulty phone, simple as that (annoying as hell but no question it's faulty) You want a new one and nothing else will do. (This is Cleo with her stroppy head on now.. on your behalf) wink
