Google apps update issue

OK, get your heads round this problem......

On mobile data I can download and update apps.

On wifi I can download but cannot update apps.

Everything else works fine on wifi and this is the same across 3 devices, all are on the same Google account and I've tried deleting the Google account, clearing cache and data in Google Play Store, play services and download manager, but still the same....

It can't be a Google issue because it works on mobile data. It can't be a phone issue because it's the same on 3 different devices, and it can't be a wifi issue because everything elseworks fine....

This only started yesterday so who do I moan at to get something changed to fix it....?

Why would this happen on three devices simultaneously unless there is a problem generally with Google Play?

A couple of my apps have updated today automatically over wifi...

I've not noticed any problem updating on my note over WiFi and like jonsie a couple have updated today. It certainly is perplexing.

Sounds a very strange problem. I've had no trouble updating over WiFi on either my phone or tablet. The phone is running Jelly Bean and the tablet Kit-Kat. Both have all apps unticked to update automatically and to only update over WiFi, so it can't be a Google problem.

Have you tried updating in a WiFi hotspot or another router different from your home router?

Let us know if you find a solution to this. Good luck.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I thought at first it was my virgin media connection being weird again. Super fast but won't load anything from youtube etc like it's constantly waiting.

You tube is working fine for me on Virgin Media (ex-Telewest) if it makes any difference.

I am on Virgin using their Superhub too.
Weird thing is it is only installed app updates. No issue with you tube, no issue playing the video of the app update, no issue installing new apps.... It's just the flippin update process grrrr.
I'll try tomorrow on my work WiFi but it's pointing towards a Virgin issue at the mo......

Scrap that, mine won't update over wifi unless I switch from mobile to wifi whilst the update Is downloading already.

Tried that and it didn't work for me 😞

Well it's not a global problem and I only update apps over Wi-Fi; had a few updates to Chrome and Maps over the last few days as well.

It's a weird one and possibly wiping the runtime cache (Dalvik or whatever one you are using) will flush out what is wrong with the handsets. As you know, root mode, reset and pray.

Only one device rooted - Cleared Dalvik.... No difference 😞

The only other common factor is Virgin.......
