Hello

Can anyone help me get my new phone working?

I bought a new Samsung J3 sim only phone in an o2 shop this morning.

The sales person said it was all set up and it would be 'emergency calls only' for an hour or so then would be good to go.

But, I still can't get it to do anything - can't make or receive calls or texts.

I've tried ringing my mobile from my landline and it just goes to voicemail.

Tried online chat with an o2 guru twice and been cut off twice.

Thanks

Caroline

Hi @notlyne Have you activated your sim here

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/activating-your-sim

If that doesn't work you need to contact O2 by borrowing a  phone or using a landline here https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

or take it back to the shop and let them help.

Edited to add. Try turning the phone off and back on again....

Sim could be faulty so if it’s not working by the morning pop back into the store for a new sim.
I assume you are using the sim that came with the phone?

Thanks for replying MI5 - Cleoriff's suggestion of turning it off and on again seems to have sorted it!
