4G on my S4

Hi all

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, a 4G tarrif and am in a 4G area. However, I have no 4G signal and on my S4 I have no option to select 4G. Am I missing something?

There is an update from Samsung which should enable 4G on unlocked handsets, as well as those on Vodafone and O2 now that their 4G services are available.

It was due to be available yesterday (3rd Sept) so hopefully it should be any day now.

Dont worry. I updated it and dont have the option in network mode either but i DO get 4G where available. So assume you just arent in a 4G area

Actually I do have that option. I DIDNT have it after the update, but after RESTARTING the phone, that option became available (and on by default).

A longshot. I would run that app and switch it on, restart the phone and see whether the options appear in the phone network settings. If they do then uninstall the app and away you go.

I Flashed the latest firmware with odin and the lte option showed up straight away in network settings and was selected as default.

I can only only suggest turning your phone off, remove battery and sim for 5-10 mins then reinsert everything. switch back on and you never know.......

Thanks for your suggestions but it doesn't seem to work 😞 I can get 4g through that app but I really want to get it through official means

You can get 4g but it doesn't work, not quite sure what you mean.

Look at previous images. Based on the new firmware that was released it should have allowed an option to appear in my network settings but it isn't showing at all.

Only the battery widget app is allowing me to use the 4g connection by the steps taken by the people who posted here.

I would love to know why the latest firmware is not allowing me access to 4g in a legitimate way
