Here’s a picture of how it looks on here when I’m typing. Considering they got rid of the home button they haven’t utilised the bar at the bottom very well.

The view is the same for text messages, Facebook status etc.
Mom just not a lover of this phone. If they do a plus model I’d probably upgrade as it’s not the phone as such-I can adjust to the new manoeuvres of hand etc but the size of the screen is a deal breaker for me. I may keep
my 7+ and give the IPX to my daughter.

@mrsbaker1yea i can understand with coming from a plus model phone.
Im worried now how i will handle it, im coming from having a iphone 7, i gave that to my sister and went back to my iphone 6s plus so ill be downsizing again.
For me i dont play much games or watch videos on my phone so as far as that i will be ok, but a valid point you made was the screen is meant to be the same size as the plus models but really its been made slightly narrower so that might be interesting to see.
1 thing people have been saying is the screen looks more fresh with being oled, do you feel it looks any better than the iphone 7 plus you come from?

There’s not much difference @Anonymous. Maybe just the depth of colour, so red is deeper red and so on.
Nothing to scream about but I’m a sucker for new phones and technology. I wanted the newest version, I got it and not impressed. I’d tell anyone NOT to get the IPx if they currently have a plus size and really like the size of it. Wait for the IPx Plus.

@Anonymous wrote:Currently both Apple and o2 are saying a 3 week wait for the 256 SG on their sites, the difference is with Apple you will get the phone in the stated time, with o2 no one knows if they will get the phone in that time or not because of the conflicting info they give out, one minute your told it will be 6 weeks the next your told you will get it in 48hrs and this is what is getting customers irate not because of the wait time, all people want is solid information but at the moment o2 think its ok to keep people in the dark.
... EE wait times for that models is guaranteed dispatch to your local store to collect within 14 days...

@mrsbaker1 I havebe a friend with similar thoughts on downsizing his Plus - but otherwise he's over the moon with it - I'd love to concur but like the other' here - still I wait 😞

@Anonymous I like the phone of course. I just don’t see what the massive difference is other than Face ID, no home button and different swipe gestures.
I’ll definitely upgrade to the plus if one comes out.

Like the rest of the world, when IOS updates apply to multiple versions of the Phone-stack, it is a bit of a leveler; i think people would perceive greater capability / more of a step forward if the new IOS was only available on the newer versions, but like you - an avid tech fan, I just want it as it is new!
and of course - new (whether true or not) is best!!
BUT for the frsutrating wait!
