Hi Folks,

Can someone help?

I phoned virgin media to cancel my virgin media only to be told that my o2 contracts would be cancelled as well. My contracts are totally separate and were not taken out together, the mobile contracts were taken out on O2 and the virgin media from virgin. There is no mention of mobiles on the virgin media contract and no mention of virgin media on the mobile contracts. The only link they have is through volt for the 2 x data on the mobiles and 2 x speed on the virgin media. At no time was I told that cancelling one would also cancel the other, how can they do this?

@marcostheblack  You'll need to speak to customer service.
Call 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202, 0800 902 0217 or 0800 032 1402 from any phone or numbers here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)
Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I would hang up and call again, as the agent has it wrong, as they will only remove all the Volt Benefits as part of your Virgin Cancellation.

To be honest going through to the Manila CC with Virgin is like playing Russian roulette, and 9/10 times you lose

It might also be worth making a formal complaint to Virgin Media  https://www.virginmedia.com/help/complaints

- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

@marcostheblack

It won't cancel your O2 contract.

That's just bull from Virgin.

You will however lose your volt benefits with O2 at your next contract renewal or change.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Virgin will say anything to keep you.

And the amount of missing selling I see on the Volt section, less said the better.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I was expecting to loose the volt benefits but I have 2 phone contracts within their initial term and don't want to risk the idiot on the other side of the phone actually being able to do it.

I can't find anything in the T&C's of either which says cancel one and you cancel the other.

I will give it another try and if they use the same line I think I'll cancel by post (using registered post to confirm it gets there).
