eSim in Pixel 4A

Hi,

I have a Google Pixel 4A (Unlocked, ex Vodaphone) and am using my Pay Monthly O2 sim in it.

The 4A has the facility to use an eSim, so I have ordered an eSim pack from O2.

Before I 'bit the bullet' I thought I'd better ask for some advice here.

Has anyone swapped their physical O2 sim (on a Pixel 4A) to esim?

I looked at the 'eSim compatible device' list on O2, but this hasn't been updated since Pixel3 and 3XL

was added? Surely there must be more Pixels that can work with O2 esim, they're nearly at Pixel 7 now?

Any help and advice gratefully received!

Thanks, Gerry

I can't see it being a problem but if you have any issues you can message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.

Went OK in the end. I now have an eSim called 'O2-UK' when my physical sim that just used to say 'O2' ?

Seems to be working fine though, had to take out the Physical sim and power it off and on to get rid

of an exclamation mark symbol in the signal strength icon. Was a bit perturbed as data was only showing as 2GB per month, but realised I needed to increase logging to my 30GB allowance in settings.

Now have a PAYG ee physical sim installed for when I have poor O2 coverage, works OK, Iv'e set up the O2 sim as default for Phone, SMS and Data and will only use the ee one when I have no O2 signal. Both sims are active to receive phone calls, so I just need to change settings if I want to call out on ee. Only one downside I can see is that the sims have to share the ringtone on Pixel 4A, be nice if they could have diferent ringtones so I could know what SIM was being called without looking. All in all,  worth the agro to activate eSIM.

Thanks for the info.

Always good to know if others ask

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
