Upgrading

I was originally I virgin media customer 

But I have now moved over to 02 

My contract ended with virgin so I have upgraded with 02 to a newer phone and aire time

My question is my phone will come on Monday 

Will it come with a new  02 sim or can I use the same virgin sim

Ive been told I keep the same number  i need to keep it 

And if I do get a new sim  I have to activate how do i do this and how long does this take usually
