Currently without use of my O2 services owing to the sim swap outage, and I understand now that it's unlikely to be fixed by Friday.  That's a real shame, given that I rely upon my O2 sim for work etc.,

What is the impact of this 7-day loss of service upon my contract with O2?  Do I now have grounds to cancel the contract owing to O2's inability to provide the service?

@Snudge88

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
Thanks

Thanks MI5, I understand that none of us can give the official O2 line on things.  Sadly I've spoken to O2 and it appears that the 'official line' is: "Hi <insert name here>.  Our technical teams are aware and are working to complete your request as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience." given that this is the response being given to any and all enquiries about the outage.

I also wouldn't expect O2 to freely tell me "yes, we've dropped the ball.  Services have now been affected for an unreasonable period of time, so would you like to cancel?".  I imagine that's a conversation I'll have to go into with full knowledge of my rights.  So I just hoped that there might be folks on here with better legal knowledge than me, who can give me a steer on what I can/can't demand.

If you’ve had a lengthy outage you can raise a formal complaint about the outage

info on how to complain at https://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

Its unlikely O2 will allow you to cancel the contract due to a 7 day outage however the complaints team will probably work to find a resolution that you are happy with
