I ported my number over to O2 from Three last week & I have activated my number for use with RCS on google messages, all chat features work except being able to send photos. I cant send photos at all without 'Not sent, tap for options' coming up, I've spent days on live chat with them telling me to do things Ive already done like
increase my spending cap
restart my phone
force stop carrier services/messages app and clear cache/data.
Now suddenly they're telling me that its because its not a Samsung phone and that only Samsung phones work with RCS on O2 which i believe to be totally ridiculous and untrue (I will be astounded if this actually is somehow true).
Can anyone help/advise or will I need to cancel my contract and go back to Three?

Was @O2Emma not able to help escalate this to 2nd line (or technical support, whatever the next level is called) @Fulton1 ?

Hi @gmarkj yeah its been escalated but it takes 5 working days before I might receive any updates.
Like @madasaf1sh said it seems to be a 1 of 1 problem so my hopes on getting it fixed are low, its peeving me off.

Did you get anywhere with this?.
I don't think it's a o2 only issue, My son swapped away to VodaFone and has the same issue. Sadly I have this issue too, not able to send photos or files (even ones I had previously sent via my other carrier). I can receive photos/files all day long. Mine has been sent to second line support now too but I am curious if they fixed it for you.

I would raise it with Google as its not something o2 can fix, as its the underlying service from Google (which is a product they bought), which is buggy as hell across all devices and networks globally.
I have ended up turning mine off, on 2 devices as it kept falling over, one sim is on ID Mobile the other is o2..

Wow... Server ate my reply - ugh, not typing it all again.
Short and Sweet - It looks like it's managed by O2 and not Google/Jibe, and carrier RCS settings are pushed to the phone (unable to change) so I firmly think this is something O2 can fix from their side. It May not be their fault but it appears that way. Many carriers (Voda) are moving away from their own design and going to Google.
