I ported my number over to O2 from Three last week & I have activated my number for use with RCS on google messages, all chat features work except being able to send photos. I cant send photos at all without 'Not sent, tap for options' coming up, I've spent days on live chat with them telling me to do things Ive already done like
increase my spending cap
restart my phone
force stop carrier services/messages app and clear cache/data.
Now suddenly they're telling me that its because its not a Samsung phone and that only Samsung phones work with RCS on O2 which i believe to be totally ridiculous and untrue (I will be astounded if this actually is somehow true).
Can anyone help/advise or will I need to cancel my contract and go back to Three?

The only part that Networks provide is the IMS servers to pass the data between handsets (as well as some supplemental servers) It is handset dependent service
I do wonder if your phone still thinks it on 3 and hasn't downloaded the new Carrier Settings to the phone properly...
Have you disabled Chat from the settings in Messaging and then rebooted, and then renabled it in the settings.
Also try removing the Carrier Services app from Google Play and the handset should then try and reinstall it, and the Universal Profile should be redownloaded.

@madasaf1sh I've did all of that buddy, not a clue what's going on, it's not like RCS isn't working, it works bar sending media.
The guy in the O2 shop had my phone for over and hour and was none the wiser.
As for it being handset dependant - it worked fine on Three network, it doesn't work fully on O2 on my phone, on a Samsung s21, and a Poco f3.

Where they all used on 3 by any chance?
Have you tried the extreme on one of the none important handsets of doing a full factory reset....

I've tried it on my OnePlus 6t which is a spare phone, factory reset and not had a sim inside of it for years. Still nothing

It's defeated me too, as well as everyone that's tried to help, it genuinely seems to be an issue that has never happened to anyone before. @madasaf1sh

Still not gotten a solution- pulling my hair out, I fear my time with o2 is going to be cut short while I'm in the 14 day window.

You seem to have a unique issue, as looking on the Google and OnePlus forum and others, no one else seems to be reporting this issue....
As 99% of the time the fixes work...

Hi @madasaf1sh
I know, that's why I have been constantly on at O2 to try and get this bug to a specialist team/person that might be able to help, but that's yet to happen.
