Can anyone explain why the 4&5G data network has gone slow over the last two weeks in London? Hearing so many stories that O2 have mast issues and is only going to get worse? Help!!!!

London in the Summer with the influx of tourists always slows down (the place i worked for installed femtocells to avoid this).. The biggest issue in London is construction work, where by infrastructure is taken down by contractors and then it has to wait to be put back in place, also Landlords wanting extorinate amounts to host masts (these 2 are not unique to London).
The only thing we can advise is to check here https://status.o2.co.uk and these guides

Simple reason is the UK is ranked 23rd out of 27 European countries for phone reception and data speeds. Even most of our 5G is mid band and relies on 4G very little true 5G out there.
London is considered one of the worse of all major cities.
Will it get worse? Yes!

As I've said many times, go abroad and get full signal everywhere, but go to any inner city in the UK and everything stops.

Their network is massively over subscribed meaning too many people are throttling the network. Its not just in London either, my work takes me all over the country and every city centre is the same. Unless its the middle of the night, the network just cant handle the number of users trying to access the service.

Not just London. I turned 5G off S23+ as poor quality and grinds phone to a halt. Will pay out my contract and move back to either ee or 3 as never had such issues.

It all depends where you are as up here, EE and 3 are absolute garbage, where as o2 is the only one that works reliably...
And all networks have areas they are garbage in ... so get some PAYG sims and test coverage... @Sagman76

The UK planning system has a lot to answer for.
There is also a wide gulf between the (generally) good networks in the UK and those who consistently rate lower.
