Hi,

Please can someone help.

My phone loses connection and won't let me call or receive calls, I have to switch flight mode on and off for phone to connect, but 10 minutes later it will lose connection again.

The strange thing is this only happens at my place of work or surrounding area. (Workplace is  outside and inside a single building , located in Edinburgh)

when I'm anywhere else in Edinburgh or further afield phone works perfect.

Phone and sim have been changed, and o2 have checked and tested, but can't find any faults. Mobile connection setting have been reset on phone as well.

Please someone help as I use my phone all the time for work and it gets annoying having to switch flight mode on and off.

Thanks Paul

If the phone and SIM have been changed and as it only happens in one locality it sounds like a network problem

Do you have WiFi at work. You could connect to that for data and use WiFi Calling for calls and text

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/international-and-network/wifi/wifi-and-4g-calling

Download My network app to monitor the network and report faults

https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Is your phone up to date with software updates, @Paul-Oldroyd?

I know some older Motos can suffer from this, annoyingly and inexplicably.

You might find locking your handset's SIM to 4G may help, assuming it is a 5G capable phone with a 5G physical SIM.

Also check any WiFi calling parameter you have set - set it to prefer WiFi if you have it at your office, or set it to prefer Mobile signal if not:

Another thing might be if your company is in a modern building with glass that shields you from the signal when inside or that blocks the better signal from the mast closest to you.

Someone here might have a better suggestion if you shared what make and model of handset is giving you these issues.
